Names

I had a conversation earlier with my boss, a remarkably intelligent man, about a posting of his on this blogspot re a Proulx ancestor. He discovered that the name was changed somewhere along the way and was originally Proust. Naturally, seeing the name of the author of Remembrance of Things Past, he wondered whether he could be related to Marcel Proust. After some digging, he discovered that they were related! He and Proust are fifty-eighth cousins, nineteen times removed.It's a small world...

Premier Posting

As my first posting, this is more of an introduction as to how my brain works - or doesn't work - on a variety of subjects and issues. I'm not going to pin myself down to one subject. I'll be writing about heraldry, religion, genealogy, onamastica, political issues, and whatever else that may pop into my head. So stay tuned, and we'll see what develops.
